Biography
As a media executive, McDermott was credited with helping numerous television sales departments across
the country use original programming to drive additional sales at their stations. From programming sales, she
made a rare industry leap into production, where her work as a reporter and news director was internationally
distributed and nationally recognized.

Her public service announcement and subsequent campaign about the consequences of drinking and driving, "The Choice,"
received national attention and earned her the prestigious Beacon Award.
In 1998, McDermott founded Show Staffers and Highbrow Media Group to bring her sales, marketing and reporting
experience to corporate clients. During the Y2K craze, McDermott made presentations to computer user groups across
the country and sold thousands of Symantec's Norton 2000 packages to customers who were eager to prepare their
computers and data for the new millennium.
In 2003, McDermott co-founded the Spencer SBA where she developed a small business education and information
portal for start-up and emerging growth businesses. A small business owner herself, she understands the challenges
that small business owners face, and developed a curriculum which has been implemented by law firms, UN translators,
talent agencies, contractors, health and wellness professionals and service providers. Through low-cost, viral
marketing efforts, the organization has attracted more than 5,000 small business owners worldwide.
In 2005, McDermott became an interim VP of Business Development for the National Exercise and Sports Trainers
Association, NESTA, where she secured new partnerships and led the company's accreditation process. During her
tenure she developed a volunteer Executive Certification Board, comprised of high level executives and professionals
from the health, wellness and pharmaceutical industries.
In February 2006, she became the exclusive distributor of NESTA programs outside of the US and Canada.

Over the past 18 months, McDermott has established offices in Nagoya, Tokyo, and soon to be Osaka,
managed by Reki Higashiyama, the Director of Global Fitness Japan. The members of her Japanese advisory board
include a "Who's Who" list of high profile Olympic athletes, Olympic coaches, and nationally recognized personal trainers.
McDermott and team recently secured an exclusive partnership with Nintendo, whereby NESTA will be featured in the
leading gamers' Wii Fit programs, to be distributed worldwide. McDermott has also secured exclusive training and education
contracts with the government of Malaysia's Ministry of Youth and Sports and is in the process of finalizing contracts with other
governments throughout the region.
An acknowledged expert in sales, lead generation, maximizing profits through marketing, corporate messaging, video
production, presenter coaching, and relationship development, McDermott works closely with organizations that want to
